Cancellations and Refunds

This Cancellation & Refund Policy outlines the terms governing cancellations, refunds, and service discontinuation for all scientific writing and publication support services offered by ScienceBy. By accepting a quote, placing an order, or making a payment, the client agrees to this policy in full.

A. General Policy Overview

1. Service Nature

ScienceBy services are intellectual, customized, and effort-based in nature.
Each project is tailored to the client’s specific academic and research requirements.
Due to the non-tangible and progressive nature of services, refunds are limited and conditional.

2. Policy Applicability

This policy applies to all writing, editing, publication, and advisory services.
Separate project-specific terms may override this policy if explicitly stated in writing.

B. Cancellation Policy

1. Client-Initiated Cancellation

Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via official communication channels – email.
Verbal or informal cancellation requests are not considered valid.
Cancellation acceptance depends on the stage of work completion.

2. Cancellation Before Work Commencement

If cancellation is requested before work has started, administrative (service) charges may apply.
Any preparatory work, expert allocation, or project planning completed will be deducted.

3. Cancellation After Work Commencement

Once writing or publication processing has begun, cancellations are generally not permitted.
If exceptionally approved, charges will apply proportionate to work completed.
Delivered drafts, outlines, or submissions remain payable.

4. ScienceBy-Initiated Cancellation

ScienceBy reserves the right to cancel a project if:
- Ethical violations are identified.
- Misrepresentation or misconduct is detected.
- Required information is not provided by the client.
In such cases, refunds (if any) are discretionary by ScienceBy.

C. Refund Policy - Scientific Writing Services

1. General Refund Principles

Writing services are non-refundable once work has commenced.
Academic dissatisfaction, supervisor feedback, or rejection does not qualify for refunds.

2. Partial Refund Considerations

Partial refunds may be considered only if:
- No substantial writing has been delivered.
- The request is made promptly and reasonably.
Approved refunds will reflect the actual work completed.

3. Non-Refundable Scenarios

Completed or partially completed writings.
Editing, formatting, plagiarism checks, or referencing services.
Urgent or priority delivery services.
Client-induced delays or changes in scope.

D. Refund Policy - Publication Support

1. Submission & Editorial Processing

No refunds are applicable once journal submission or editorial handling begins.
Journal rejection or revision requests do not constitute service failure.

2. Journal Decisions & External Factors

Refunds will not be provided for:
- Journal rejection.
- Delays by editors or reviewers.
- Changes in journal indexing or policies.

3. Article Processing Charges (APCs)

APCs paid to journals are non-refundable and governed by publisher policies.
ScienceBy is not responsible for APC refunds or waivers.

E. Payment Adjustments and Credits

1. Service Credits

In select cases, refunds may be replaced with service credits.
Credits are non-transferable and time-bound.

2. Adjustments for Scope Changes

Project modifications may result in revised pricing.
Reduced scope does not automatically qualify for refunds.

F. Refund Request Process

1. How to Request a Refund

Requests must be submitted in email with justification.
Supporting documentation are required.

2. Review & Decision

All refund requests are reviewed internally.
Decisions are final and binding.

3. Processing Timelines

Approved refunds are processed within a reasonable administrative period for about 5 – 7 business days.
Bank charges, taxes, or transaction fees are non-refundable.

G. Special Cases and General Terms

1. Force Majeure

No refunds are applicable for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control.

2. Policy Abuse Prevention

Repeated or unreasonable refund requests may result in service denial.

3. Third-Party Dependencies

ScienceBy is not liable for services dependent on journals, publishers, or indexing bodies.

4. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

This policy is governed by the laws of India.
ScienceBy reserves the right to update this policy without prior notice.
Continued use of services implies acceptance of revised terms.
