Description
The Medical Writing Internship is a 2-month online program that trains students and early professionals in scientific and medical communication. Through expert-led sessions and hands-on writing, participants will develop one review article and build a polished writing portfolio, ideal for careers in medical writing, research, or healthcare communication.
Key Learning Objectives
By the end of this internship, participants will be able to:
- Understand the Scope of Medical Writing : Differentiate between various types of medical writing (scientific, regulatory, consumer health, etc.)
- Conduct Effective Literature Searches : Use platforms like PubMed and Google Scholar to identify, access, and evaluate scientific literature
- Develop Review Articles from Scratch : Plan, outline, write, and revise two structured review articles (narrative/systematic-lite)
- Apply Scientific Writing Principles : Write clearly, concisely, and accurately using appropriate tone, structure, and formatting
- Cite and Reference : Ethically Use citation tools like Zotero or Mendeley to manage references and avoid plagiarism
- Create a Writing Portfolio : Compile and present polished medical writing samples suitable for job or freelance applications
- Build Confidence as a Medical Writer : Gain practical experience and mentorship to prepare for freelance, academic, or industry roles
